Gunderboom® Marine
Construction, Management, Salvage, Commercial
Diving, and Dredging
Based
in Anchorage Alaska, Gunderboom and
its Underwater Construction division have provided Marine Services
in some of the world's
most challenging environments. Founded
in 1974, Underwater Construction’s
primary objective has been to offer marine
construction, management, subarctic
and arctic piledriving, commercial diving, fabrication, repair,
maintenance, salvage, and demolition services.
These services have been provided in
the harsh environments of the
Bearing Sea and the Arctic
Ocean.
One of our most recent Marine Construction and Management projects
was the design-build of an extensive structure at the Lovett Generating
Station in New York on the Hudson River. This structure was required
for the installation of a Gunderboom Marine Life Exclusion System.
This project was performed under New York winter conditions and completed
ahead of schedule and below budget. |

Our
salvage experience originated in Alaska with
projects on the Aleutian Chain, and significant large scale disasters
like the Exxon Valdez
oil spill where we were one of the “first responders” with
divers, vessel and barge support, ROV services
and logistical support. We offer salvage services, which often include
the use of our Engineered
Aquatic Filter Barriers to keep contaminants
and environmental pollutants contained throughout the salvage operation.
Our Mandeville, Louisiana
office has a primary focus on the Gulf States
cleanup and restoration effort.
